With the ACT easing out of lockdown through its Pathway Forward, please find below some information relating to the resumption of activity at the AIS campus.
When might public activity resume at the AIS campus
We understand the value of the AIS campus to the community, particularly Canberra’s community, and we will resume activity when we see it safe, appropriate and viable in accordance with the ACT Public Health Directions. We are also constantly monitoring the evolving situation, in particular the rates of vaccination and community transmission in the ACT and across Australia.
Any resumption of public activity will only occur when this is completely separate to, and with no crossover with, any high performance athlete activity on campus.
So as restrictions continue to be eased, we may still require some limitation on public activities.
We thank you for your ongoing understanding.
Accordingly, the AIS is considering a possible resumption of public activity on the AIS campus in accordance with the following target phases. [Updated: 19-10-21]

Safety considerations
The resumption of public activity at the AIS Campus will only occur subject to the advice from AIS health professionals and in accordance with the ACT Public Health Directions applying at the time.
Any resumption of public activity will be in accordance with strict COVID Safe measures to ensure the health and safety of staff, athletes and all members of the public. We have also enhanced all cleaning and hygiene protocols across the campus.
We will endeavour to provide advanced notice of any resumption of public activity. If there are any changes to programs and activity at the AIS campus, this will be communicated via our website, as well as the Visit AIS, Aquatic Centre and Track and Field Centre Facebook pages. Existing customers may also be contacted directly should any changes apply.
Even as public activity resumes on the AIS campus, we will continue to monitor the situation constantly and may suspend activity should there be a need to due to health and safety concerns.
