Turkey pasties
- Preparation time 15 minutes
- Cooking time 25 - 30 minutes

Ingredients
- 500g lean turkey mince
- 1 medium carrot, grated
- 1 parsnip, finely chopped
- 1½ tbsp barbecue sauce
- 1 cup fresh breadcrumbs
- 5 sheets of low-fat puff pastry
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
Method
- Preheat oven to 200°C.
- Combine mince, carrot, parsnip, barbecue sauce and bread crumbs in a large bowl and mix with a wooden spoon. The mix should form a pattie consistency.
- Cut 4 x 12cm rounds from each sheet of pastry.
- Spoon turkey mix into the centre of the pastry rounds and brush edges with egg.
- Fold edges to make a pastie shape and press firmly to ensure a good seal.
- Baste tops of pasties with egg.
- Place in oven for 25–30 minutes or until golden brown.
HINT: These can be eaten cold for school lunches, and leftovers are great for a snack.
