Dylan Alcott to headline 2023 AIS World Class to World Best

23 August 2023

Paralympian, disability advocate and 2022 Australian of the Year Dylan Alcott OAM will headline Australia's premier high performance sport conference.

Alcott is no stranger to the Australian Institute of Sport, having spent countless hours working with the engineering team throughout his illustrious career which saw him win all four grand slams as well as Paralympic gold.

However, his return to Canberra in November this year will be slightly different, with Alcott headlining the 2023 edition of World Class to World Best (WC2WB).

WC2WB is Australia’s premium high performance sport conference and will bring together all areas of the high-performance system for three days of networking, learning and collaboration.

To celebrate the 12-month anniversary of Australia’s High Performance 2032+ Sport Strategy, WC2WB 2023 will explore the united core values of excellence, belonging, courage, and connection and how they are enabling the high-performance sport system to win well and inspire Australians.

Alcott will be delivering the keynote on Belonging, while fellow Australian of the Year recipient and one of the heroes from the 2019 Thailand cave rescue, Dr Richard Harris SC OAM, will share his thoughts on Excellence. Courage will be covered by Big Wave Surfer Mark Matthews, and Mental Health Worker, AFL Coach and member of the National Sport Participation Strategy Steering Group, Jacara Egan, will reflect on Connection.

Sessions dedicated to Win Well, Women in high performance coaching and the Countdown to Paris will also be held across the three days. For more information on WC2WB and the Keynote Speakers, visit the AIS website.
