The Professional Skills short courses will cover topics including leadership development, stakeholder management, optimised collaboration and psychological safety.

The Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) has announced nine Professional Skills short course sessions as part of its commitment to building sustainable sporting success and capability across the high performance (HP) system.

Leaders across the HP system are being encouraged to register their interest in the courses which will run from November until mid-2024, with courses available in leadership development, stakeholder management, optimised collaboration and psychological safety.

Olympic Winter Institute of Australia Medical Services and Rehabilitation Manager Peter Caine FACP took part in one of the four courses, Developing Others, last year, and found the material on how leaders can develop others to succeed in a complex and continuously changing environment has had a great impact on his day-to-day environment.

“My participation in the Developing Others program has had a profound impact on the way in which I communicate with my team, understand and engage with others, and contribute to an environment of openness and growth,” Caine said.

“It helped me to develop a skillset and approach that has enabled me to more consistently bring out the best in myself and others.”

Interested parties are encouraged to register as soon as possible as each session is capped at 20 people in order to maximise the learning experience.

Registrations and further information about each of the four courses are available here .
